A STORY ABOUT A TINY TOWN, A BIG SECRET & WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE WORLD FINDS BOTH

My name is Memphis Autumn Layne and I live in Lickskillet, Alabama, on the corner of Moontown Road and Butter and Egg Lane. No joke.

We have one blinking light, a Dollar General, two churches that are convinced the other one's going to hell, and, of course, the Lickskillet Café. But don't get the wrong idea. We are not backwoods hillbillies. We are plain ole rednecks. Hillbillies and rednecks are different. Trust me.

And, just to set y'all straight, contrary to the movie Sweet Home Alabama, we don't eat bologna cake. That's gross.

We prefer cheeseburger pie. Or a deep-fried Twinkie.

Sixteen-year-old Memphis Layne's life is pretty ordinary—until Dillon Stone, the biggest country music star in America, shows up and tells her he's her biological father.

Oh—and he needs her bone marrow to survive.

Memphis helps save his life. The story is supposed to stay secret.

It doesn't.

Soon Memphis is viral, tourists are pouring into Lickskillet, and the whole country is watching a tiny Alabama town that has spent years quietly protecting a secret of its own.

And everybody is looking.
